EWOK Movie Night: “Kahnesatake: 270 Years of Resistance”
Join EWOK! (Earth Warriors are OK!) for a potluck and movie showing of Kahnesatake: 270 Years of Resistance. The documentary chronicles the 78-day armed stand-off between Mohawks, the Québec police and the Canadian army. The film that provides a portrait of the people behind the barricades and insight into the Mohawks’ unyielding determination to protect their land. All proceeds will go to Shawn Brandt and the Tyendinaga Mohawks who face criminal prosecution in the midst of a land struggle (http://www.ocap.ca/supporttmt).
When: Wednesday, August 20th. Potluck at 6:30 pm. Movie at 7:00 pm.
